OUR PAST PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES

C4C provides innovative street level comprehensive, culturally competent outreach initiatives. Our unique approach is designed to influence the most difficult to reach troubled youth. Our message is universal and is unattached to race, age, religion or gender.

C4C N' DA HOOD TOUR(EST. 2008 - 2011) 

During the summer C4C hosted free cookouts and anti-violence presentations in six of the most crime ridden communities of Durham. Collaborating with government entities bringing resources to underprivileged families. i.e.(HIV Testing, Employment Training, Job Readiness, Substance Abuse Assistance, GED programs, Special Guest speakers etc.)

In addition, C4C gave out hundreds of free computers, bikes, hair cuts, shampoo & style, movie tickets, gift certificates, baseball camp scholarships, game tickets, taxi rides etc.

C4C HOMELESS PROJECT(EST. 2013 - 2019) 

Partnering with local businesses, C4C identified

homeless people and adopted them for the Xmas holidays. We provided them with a hotel room for

Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. In addition; they are supplied with new under garments, clothes, shoes, gloves, coats, gifts, etc. They are also giving groceries and spending money to enjoy the holidays.

THE HOMELESS ACT(2019) 

Before launching the C4C Homeless Project the Founder and Executive Director, Vegas Don visited the woods

and a talked with the homeless. He also dressed up homeless and stood on corners for hours pan handling just to get a true experience of what it feels like to be homeless and how they are treated by society.

THE HOMELESS GIVEBACK (Est. 2020)

C4C Founder Vegas Don decided to reward those who displayed kindness, and their willingness to give to the homeless. In return, Vegas Don would give them

a $100 Cash reward for their act of compassion.

Don is a firm believer, "We Rise By Lifting Others."

SANTA GOES TO THE HOOD(EST. 2000 - 2020) 

C4C partnered with local business to donate toys, and

a host of donors allowed the C4C Volunteers to deliver donated toys to the impoverished communities on Christmas day. The CEO/Founder of C4C, Vegas Don dressed up as Santa for this special occasion going door to door to bring hope and joy back into the community.

ADOPT FAMILIES 4 XMAS (EST. 2003 - 2019) 

C4C connected with Durham Social Services, identifying single parent mothers with 3 kids or

more in need. We provided the kids complete Xmas. Providing under garments, clothes, shoes, gloves, coats, and lots of their favorite toys we received

listed on their wish lists. C4C founder Vegas Don visited as Santa late Christmas Eve and surprise

the kids after 12am with a house full gifts and joy.

YOUTH EXPLORATION DAY(EST. 2007 - 2019) 

C4C sponsored groups of the “at-risk youth” to visit

major corporations, local businesses, museums, etc. 

This effort was to expose youth to career experiences

and to introduce them to business leaders and top

corporate executives. 20 youth experienced a totally free

all day adventure from morning to night. breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highlights of their day included NBA, NFL games, Horseback Riding, etc. Empowering them so they can see new opportunities, new possibilities and new ways of living.

DBAA(2018)

DONS BASKETBALL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION 

DONS Basketball League 4 day tournament for youth ages 12 to 17 hosted in Durham, NC on August 16th - 19th, 2018. Twenty teams will competed  to win the ultimate DBL VDON Championship Title. The DBAA is

a celebration of our youth, diversity and community unity. In addition C4C hosted 20+ events (i.e Kids Carnival, Comedy Show, Outdoor Music Festival,

Step Show, Skate Party, Gospel Show, Wellness

Retreat, to name a few during the 4 day tournament. 

ADOPT FAMILIES 4 THANKSGIVING

(EST. 2005 - 2019) 

C4C connected with Durham Social Services, identifying families with 4 kids or more in need. We provided

uncooked Thanksgiving Feast to poverty stricken families.

C4C delivered the food to the families 1 week prior to Thanksgiving Day, allowing them to cooking their own food.

ADOPT AN ELDER(EST. 2006 - 2011) 

Preferably the last Sunday of each month C4C members and groups of youth visited the Rose Manor Rest Home

to spend time and pay homage to the elderly. Through conversations and providing small necessities for the elderly. Youth participants paid homage to the elderly by giving them the most valuable resource of all, their time.

CHURCH, FAMILY & FRIENDS DAY

(EST. 2007 - 2019) 

Family & Friends came together fellowship and socialize

with one another. Everyone attends the same chosen church together. Each year we was committed to introducing youth to God. 

ADOPT-A-STOP CLEAN UP(EST. 2008 - 2010) 

C4C partnered with Keep Durham Beautiful

beautification program. C4C members, youth and volunteers gather to clean-up local impoverished community areas and bus stops. Removing trash, debris, empty bottles, cigarette butts, and graffiti.

REV. BARBER FIELD TRIP 

C4C takes a group of youth to visit one of the most prominent ministers in the nation. Rev. Dr. William Barber, former president of the NC, NAACP host a special Sunday service and luncheon at his very own Greenleaf Christian Church of Christ in Goldsboro, NC. In collaboration with C4C, Rev, Barber will meet and greet with the youth in his home, as well as facilitate a round table discussion with them about their history, faith and today’s issues.

CAROLINA DONS AAU TEAM(EST. 2018 - 2012) 

Carolina Dons was first official AAU travel basketball team Vegas Don coached and sponsored this team that had skilled players but their parents could not afford to pay for AAU.
